4 National Lottery jackpot winners may have THROWN AWAY million-pound tickets after extraordinary Camelot blunder
11/7/2015

Camelot put the WRONG numbers on their website for 40 minutes - a mistake which could have led to potential winners throwing away their tickets thinking they hadn’t won

Four lotto players may have torn up million-pound tickets following an extraordinary blunder by draw bosses, the Sunday People can reveal.

Camelot put the WRONG numbers on their website for 40 minutes - a mistake which could have led to potential winners throwing away their tickets thinking they hadn’t won.

The incorrect Millionaire Raffle numbers were published on the Lotto website for between 30 and 40 minutes on Saturday October 10.

Twenty five ticket holders became millionaires on the night - four of whom are still missing.

Camelot insisted they made the blunder known publicly “some time ago”, but in appeals to track down the missing millionaires issued last week there was no mention of the mistake.

Instead bosses said they had the “champagne on ice” and urged players to “check the pockets of clothing, in wallets, bags and down the back of the sofa – someone out there could literally be sitting on a fortune”.

A spokesman has now confirmed an urgent bid was taking place to trace winners who have yet to come forward.

A message on the Camelot website said: “For a short time on the night of the draw our website displayed a test screen of dummy Lotto Millionaire Raffle numbers.

“So we’re asking all players to check and re-check their tickets against the codes below to see if there is a £1m cheque waiting for you.”
